Create Your Account
Click "Sign Up" on the homepage. Enter your full name, email address, phone number, and create a strong password. You will receive an OTP via SMS to verify your phone number.

Add your state, LGA, and ward. Upload a profile photo. Completing your profile earns you 200 points (₦200) and unlocks full platform features.
Verify Your Identity (Optional but Recommended)
Upload your PVC for 500 points or your NIN for 300 points. Verification increases your withdrawal limits and builds trust in the community.
Start Engaging
Vote in daily polls, browse civic cases in your area, report community issues, and start earning points immediately. Your dashboard shows everything at a glance.
Tip: Download the I DEY VOTE mobile app from the App Store or Google Play for the best experience. The app supports push notifications so you never miss a new poll or case update.
Voting & Polls
How to Vote in a Poll
- Navigate to the Feed or Polls section from your dashboard.
- Browse active polls. Each poll shows the question, options, and number of votes so far.
- Tap or click your preferred option. Your vote is recorded instantly and anonymously.
- You can change your vote before the poll closes by selecting a different option.
- Each poll vote earns you 10 points (₦10), up to 5 votes per day.
How to Create a Poll
- Click the "Create Poll" button on your dashboard or feed.
- Write a clear, unbiased question. Avoid loaded language that skews results.
- Add 2–6 answer options. Include "Undecided" or "No Opinion" where appropriate.
- Set an end date (optional). Polls can run from 1 hour to 30 days.
- Add relevant tags (e.g., #Education, #Security, #2027Elections) so the right people see it.
- Submit for review. Most polls are approved within minutes.
Understanding Poll Results
Once a poll closes or reaches 100 votes, results are displayed with:
- Percentage breakdown for each option.
- Geographic filter — see how your state, LGA, or ward voted compared to the national result.
- Demographic breakdown — age and gender splits (where users have provided this data).
- Sentiment analysis — for political polls, an AI-generated summary of comment sentiment.
Fair Poll Rules: Polls must not contain hate speech, incitement, or deliberately false premises. Polls that appear designed to manipulate public opinion rather than measure it may be removed. See our Community Guidelines for details.
Civic Cases
Reporting a Civic Case
- Click "Report Case" from your dashboard or the Civic Map.
- Write a specific title (e.g., "Broken Street Light on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere").
- Describe the issue: what is wrong, who is affected, how long it has persisted, and who should fix it.
- Pin the exact location on the map. Include the nearest landmark for clarity.
- Upload at least one photo or video as evidence. Cases with evidence are prioritised.
- Select the appropriate category (Infrastructure, Health, Education, Security, Environment, etc.).
- Submit. You earn 50 points (₦50) per approved case, up to 2 per day.
Verifying a Civic Case
- Browse open cases on the Civic Map or in the "Verify" section.
- Only verify cases you have physically seen or confirmed through reliable sources.
- Click "Verify" and answer the verification questions (e.g., "Is the issue still present?").
- Upload your own photo or video if possible. This strengthens the case.
- Each verification earns you 25 points (₦25), up to 4 per day.
Case Statuses Explained
- Open: The case has been reported and is awaiting verification.
- Verified: At least one other user has confirmed the issue exists.
- In Progress: The relevant authority or community has acknowledged the case and is working on it.
- Resolved: The issue has been fixed. The reporter and verifiers are notified.
- Closed — False Report: The case was found to be inaccurate or fabricated. Points may be deducted.
Safety First: Never put yourself in danger to report or verify a case. If a situation involves active violence, armed conflict, or hazardous conditions, report it to the Nigerian Police (112 or 199) first, then document it on I DEY VOTE from a safe distance.

Account & Security
Resetting Your Password
- On the login page, click "Forgot Password?"

Deleting Your Account

Security Alert: I DEY VOTE will never ask for your ATM PIN, OTP, or online banking password. If anyone contacts you claiming to be from I DEY VOTE and requests these, it is a scam. Report it immediately to [email protected].
Troubleshooting
Wait 2 minutes and click "Resend OTP." Check that your phone has signal. If you use DND (Do Not Disturb) on your line, you may not receive bulk SMS. Temporarily disable DND by texting ALLOW to 2442 (for MTN, Airtel, Glo) or STOP to 2442 (for 9mobile), then request a new OTP. If the issue persists, contact support.
Common reasons: (1) The bank account name does not match your profile name — update one to match the other. (2) You have exceeded your weekly (₦100,000) or monthly (₦300,000) limit. (3) Your account is under review for suspicious activity. (4) The bank network is temporarily down. Check your Wallet → Transactions for the specific error code, or contact [email protected].
Try these steps in order: (1) Force-close the app and reopen it. (2) Clear the app cache (Android: Settings → Apps → I DEY VOTE → Storage → Clear Cache). (3) Update to the latest version from the App Store or Play Store. (4) Restart your device. (5) If none of these work, uninstall and reinstall the app. Your data is safe on our servers.
Cases are rejected for: (1) Lack of evidence — upload clear photos or videos. (2) Duplicate — someone already reported the same issue nearby. (3) False or misleading information — claims that cannot be verified. (4) Wrong category — reporting a health issue under "Infrastructure." (5) Violation of guidelines — hate speech, defamation, or incitement in the description. You can edit and resubmit, or appeal the rejection.
Points are usually credited instantly, but may take up to 15 minutes during high traffic. If they still do not appear: (1) Check if you have hit your daily cap of 1,000 points. (2) Check if the action was flagged by our anti-abuse system (e.g., voting too fast). (3) Refresh your dashboard. (4) If the issue persists beyond 1 hour, contact [email protected] with your User ID and the action you performed.
We love feedback. Go to Settings → Help → Send Feedback in the app, or email [email protected]. For bugs, include: your device type, OS version, app version, what you were doing when the bug occurred, and screenshots if possible. For feature requests, explain the problem you are trying to solve and how the feature would help.
